An almost mythical place in Ostend, the Flandria Box Club opened its doors in 1959 – and has been through both periods of national success and decline ever since. Housed in the Royal stables where it supports both professional and amateur boxing talent, the club is a time capsule filled with boxing tournament posters, historical photos, newspaper cut-outs and other trivia.
Its current form, largely attributed to the club's long-standing coach Eddy Vandenhouweele is now set to transform as we know it now as the building is about to undergo a several month-long reconstruction.
I documented the Flandria Box Club in the framework of VII Academy.
